Melissa is an incredible doula. She is dedicated and knowledgeable. She’s warm— the kind of person you feel you’ve known your whole life even upon your first meeting. My birth was not what I expected or prepared for. I went into spontaneous labor at 33 weeks. When Melissa entered the hospital, she totally changed the energy of the room. Through her decorative touches and easy manner with hospital staff, she put me at ease in a stressful time. When I needed to make a difficult decision, I looked to Melissa— rather than an unfamiliar doctor and nurses— to have confidence in my choice. She kept me company when my husband and baby were taken to the Special Care Nursery after delivery, an especially tender moment. Her photos and videos and our conversation after birth helped me process these events in a healthy way, and thanks to her a birth that could have been traumatic was actually an empowering, redemptive experience. I am so grateful to have had her as my doula and cannot recommend her highly enough!
