Joyce is tremendous doula, an intelligent woman, and amazing at what she does. I must admit as the soon to be dad I was a little hesitant when my wife brought up hiring a doula. I was concerned that someone else added into the environment might take away from what I expected to be some of the most bonding moments between me and my wife. I also felt that we were prepared enough.
However, after meeting with Joyce and working with her for the months leading up to the delivery, I could not recommend her more. She was a well of knowledge to any and all questions that we had but also understood her own gaps in knowledge but knew where to look to fill those. She also has access to an incredble network of providers and resources in the area. Everytime you mention that your doula is Joyce to an OB, Midwife, or Nurse, they always respond the same way, you are in good hands. My wife and I's experience during labor and delivery was a very special couple days for us and Joyce was there when we needed her but also had the awareness to not be there when we needed to be just us. If you are looking for a doula and you want the best then look to Joyce Havinga-Droop
