Amber was a big part of why our birth and the first days at home with our little one were successful. Before the birth, Amber helped us craft a birth plan that aligned with our goals and would make sense to staff at the hospital. During the birth, she was an important ally, helping us think about the right questions to ask and understand our options; suggesting and supporting comfort measures during labor; and generally providing guidance, encouragement, and hands-on support during the birth of our daughter. After the birth, she provided post partum support at our home, sharing tips for newborn care, breastfeeding, and postpartum healing. Importantly, during her visits we were able to get some rest and take care of ourselves. She also helped to connect us to incredible resources we needed in the early days and was a welcome companion during what is often an isolating time.
