God knew I needed Chandra ??
From the moment she walked into my home, she began with a prayer. She brought so much light and peace into the room. The first time I met her was at my birth, yet somehow, it felt like I had known her forever. She made me feel safe in one of the most vulnerable and sacred moments of my life!
I was shocked to learn she had only been a doula for a year because her confidence and intuition made it feel like second nature. She knew exactly what I needed.
I didn’t have a doula for my first birth, so having Chandra by my side the second time made an enormous difference. From contractions to pushing and those first moments after birth, she was such a comforting presence. When the pain felt overwhelming, I found SO much comfort in squeezing the life out of her arm, haha! ?? She was always there to guide, encourage, and support me.
She also cared so thoughtfully for our entire family. With my toddler present, she helped navigate everything while being mindful of my husband’s role, giving him space to be present with me, too. She knew when to step in and when to step back. Such a gift!
One moment I will NEVER forget is when I was resting with my newborn and Chandra came over to pray over our baby. ?? It meant more to me than words can express. Having someone speak a blessing over our precious baby was such a beautiful expression of love and faith that I will carry with me forever.
Chandra was so much more than a doula. She was comfort, encouragement, peace, and prayer. Looking back, I truly see God’s kindness in placing her beside me during such a sacred, life-changing moment.
Chandra, thank you for your prayers, your gentle heart, and the love you poured into our birth. You will forever be a special part of our birth story. If you want someone who will care for you physically, emotionally, and spiritually, I cannot recommend her enough. ??
