I reached out to Hilary late in my second pregnancy. Having already birthed one child, I told myself I didn't need a doula this time around. But as I reflected on my first birth and all the ways I did not feel totally supported, I realized that I really wanted to do things differently this time. I had taken a birth class with Hilary during my first pregnancy and found her so calming, warm, and helpful. So, I reached out to her totally expecting that she would be booked and wouldn't be able to help me at this later stage in my pregnancy. But I was wrong! Hilary listened to me and my hopes for this birth without any judgment. I experienced the birth of my second child as a beautiful experience, and so much of that was due to the support I had from Hilary. She was so calming to me and my partner, so supportive, and really helped me stay tuned into my own body. I cannot recommend her highly enough.
