Our experience with Olga was beyond what we expected, and her philosophy aligned well with ours: natural labor and evidence-based information. We started working with her in my late third trimester, and in just a few weeks before my due date, she helped both my husband and me become more prepared for labor, both physically and mentally.
As first-time parents, we had a lot of questions about hospital birth and did not have a well-defined birth preference plan, but we knew we wanted a more natural and unmedicated approach, which sometimes makes OBs at hospitals a bit nervous. Olga walked us through all aspects of labor and delivery, and we felt very confident after meeting with her and learning certain techniques that help with it (spinning baby exercises, breathing, birth ball, even some dietary tips).
As a result, I went into labor at 39w3d without the induction, and waited for contractions to pick up after my water broke in the middle of the night. I was able to delay my hospital check-in until I absolutely knew it was time (all with Olga's continuous support on the phone) and the labor itself was relatively short. If I remember correctly, I went into the L&D room around 1 or 2 pm, and the baby was born at 8 pm. No pain medication, just hydrotherapy and breathing during contractions with Olga helping me, and Olga's and the L&D nurse’s guidance during pushing.
Olga is very flexible and has great communication with her clients, always happy to answer any questions and share useful references and recommendations. Her presence at the hospital really helped me and my husband, knowing we have such a great advocate on our side. If we are so blessed to become pregnant again, we would absolutely love to work with her again.
