Melissa worked with me to understand my birth plan, and held me accountable for researching all my options. Without Melissa's support, I likely would not have challenged some standard recommendations provided by my OB which were not necessarily applicable to my situation. She helped me gain the confidence to navigate the conversation and choices with my OB which turned out to be very easy and my doctor was accommodating to alternative and safe solutions. By developing the confidence to advocate for myself, I was able to decline two interventions offered during delivery which turned out to be unnecessary anyways!
During labor and delivery, Melissa offered endless effective ideas on getting through each contraction and/or how to relax between contractions.
Her knowledge didnt'e stop at labor and delivery! During her postpartum visits, she shared so much insight on breastfeeding and taking care of baby - which were all so helpful even despite it being our second child!
We would love to have Melissa on our journey again in the future if we conceive again <3
