I cannot say enough wonderful things about Susannah. She is kind, warm, silly, grounding, tough and most importantly, dependable. We chose Susannah as our doula because of her deep knowledge of birth both spiritually and psychologically. She recommend books on birth, drew on her expertise of Birth Ready Method and provided both strength and stretching exercises to support my body and encourage optional positioning for baby, as well as meditations and grounding exercises when I was feeling anxious. I felt so deeply cared for by her during my entire pregnancy.
In the weeks leading up to delivery, she was always a quick text or call away. Seemly always providing the exact reassurance, guidance and comfort I needed in the moment. We worked on trusting my body and my baby, which helped me release the need to control and project manage my birth. I knew she was “holding” me and my baby.
Because of Susannah, I was able to allow for the process to naturally unfold, with its twists and turns, and have another successful unmediated birth. This birth was special as I delivered our son in the water after only 6 hours of labor, in the coziest of hospital rooms created by Susannah. I could not have done it without her and the support she provided to my husband. Post delivery we spent an hour together eating snacks and cracking each other up before being moved to postpartum care.
I cannot recommend Susannah enough as a doula and as a human. We just adore her in every way and know you will too!
