My husband and I are very grateful for our experience with Julia! She cares a lot about helping you achieve a positive birth experience and she clearly has a lot of knowledge and experience! What impressed me the most about Julia is how attentive she is to you as an individual. She remembered specific things I told her about my first birth - things that made me worried about my second - and didn't treat me like a "one size fits all" client. Julia is also calm, cool, and collected and very organized and professional. We also took her Bradley Class just to "try something different" than our first go around and we ended up making friends with some of the other couples in our class - something that I, as an introvert, wasn't expecting! It was very helpful to hear from other people what experiences or questions they had, to not feel "alone" in some of the anxiety that accompanies childbirth, and to celebrate as each classmate had her baby! I am grateful for the thorough preparation that we received as a couple. Of course the end goal was a safe delivery of our baby, but we were also so grateful to apply some of the things we learned in class to labor a little longer at home with a little less chaos than before, and when we finally arrived at the hospital, we felt like we were set up well to try for a VBAC, which we are happy to say worked out for us!! With our first experience, we didn't know what to anticipate despite taking another childbirth class (for example, the doctor asked if I wanted her to break my water, and I had no idea how to respond), I struggled to manage the pain even with an epidural, I was scared when my son's heartrate wouldn't recover fast enough, and I was confused by "what went wrong" that required me to get a C section. Julia helped us navigate those worries and welcome our second son with much more peace!
