We were recomended Mariah by some friends of ours. We had our first baby in July, and Mariah was absolutely phenomenal throughout the entire process. She was very kind to give me the space to process all of my many feelings, and validate concerns, but something that stood out to me the most was that she was incredibly encouraging. Being my first baby, I doubted myself a lot, and doubted my body's capability since I'd never done anything like this before, but she reminded me from the start that this was a beautiful thing, and my body could do it. Her confidence in me helped me remain confident in myself. She is incredibly thoughtful, and checked in on me throughout my pregnancy and postpartum. She is very knowledgeable, and did a wonderful job including my husband in the process so that he was involved, and her education really helped him feel less nervous and worried. Mariah is absolutely in her element as a Doula, as evidenced by her calm demeanor, but also her genuine care for each family she sees, and her ability to remain adaptable to each situation while still considering what we discussed prior to labor. She helped me stay grounded, especially in the last few weeks. I had a great experience with Mariah, and one of the ways she stood out to me was after I delivered my baby girl, I tore severely and had to be put under to be stitched back up and she stayed with my husband and new baby that entire time. I was in the OR/recovery for 3-4 hours, and she made sure that in the precious, first few hours of parenthood that my husband was not alone, and felt empowered, and that is so incredibly priceless to me. She not only checked on me after I got out of surgery, but she came to visit at the hospital afterward given the extra complications and wanted to make sure I felt supported and confident. Mariah was so wonderful, and we know absolutely that we made the right choice in picking her to be our Doula.
