We had a challenging experience with our first birth, so going into our second, we were naturally feeling nervous and unsure of what to expect. That all changed when we met Kate.
She took the time to understand our previous experience, what we were hoping for this time around, and what was important to us. We never felt rushed, or like any question was too small.
When it came time to welcome our daughter, Kate was absolutely wonderful. Our labor moved fast, and she was right there making sure I was taken care of every step of the way. She kept us informed about what was happening, reminded me to breathe when things got intense, and constantly reassured me that I was doing great. She somehow knew exactly what I needed in each moment, whether that was encouragement, guidance, or simply a calm voice reminding me that I could do it.
This birth was truly redemptive for me. After our first experience, I wasn’t sure what this birth would look like or how I would feel going through it again. I walked away feeling strong, capable, and genuinely proud of myself. Kate helped me find that confidence and reminded me throughout the entire experience that I could do this. And I did! I don’t think I fully realized how much I needed that experience until afterward. It was incredibly healing.
She was fully present, attentive, and invested in making sure we had the best experience possible.
Looking back, we are so thankful we had Kate by our side. She played such an important role in making our second birth a completely different experience from our first, and we couldn’t be more grateful!
If you’re considering hiring a doula, we cannot recommend Kate enough. She is truly wonderful at what she does, and we feel so lucky that she was part of such a special and healing moment in our lives!!
