Testimonial for Megan Boone
During my third pregnancy, I debated whether to hire a birth photographer. I loved the photos my doula captured after my first birth, and since I was planning a home birth, I wanted those moments documented.
At 37 weeks, I reached out to Megan, and thankfully, she was available! We met over Zoom, and she later visited our home to see the space. Megan is personable, down-to-earth, and lovely to be around. She interacted so naturally with my other children, making us all feel comfortable.
When I went into labour, we contacted Megan. By the time our midwife arrived, I was already quite far along, so Megan came right away. Thankfully, she arrived just minutes before our baby was born and captured photos of the kids and the birth just in time!
I also wanted videos, especially of the gender reveal, so Megan had her camera in one hand and her phone in the other. She captured beautiful videos of the kids being involved, along with amazing photos I will cherish forever.
Afterward, Megan photographed us snuggling, moments with our midwife, and all the little details that are easy to miss but become so special to look back on.
This was my first time seeing my placenta, and Megan made it even more meaningful. She photographed the midwife examining it, created a placenta print for me, and captured photos of that too. It means so much to have those memories.
We also took family photos, including pictures of my parents meeting their new grandbaby for the first time.
If you’re considering birth photography, I 1000% recommend it! You only experience those first moments with your baby once, and during labour, you may not remember everything clearly. Having these photos and videos to look back on is incredibly special.
I hold them close to my heart and will cherish them forever.
