She helped us navigate the birth plan process and examine what we wanted from the birth; she took walks with me as the third trimester went along; and most of all she was a rock for both of us during the labor. In the postpartum days, she supported us by coming and doing whatever we needed most on a given day: holding the baby so I could shower, preparing delicious food, or just giving me some adult conversation to ease my spirit.
