Jessica came to our family toward the end of our pregnancy before we had even *considered* hiring a doula to beside me during labor. Stepping in as just a friend, she shared exercises and activities almost daily with me to help me get my body prepared for "the big day", and pushed rest above all else.
But I think the biggest testimony comes from my husband & mother, who had gone it along with me the first birth around. They both now say "GET A DOULA" to pregnant families who are unsure of why they would need one. It helped those two cut tensions, remain calm for eachother and for me, Jess definitely supported them to be able to support me! She worked so well too with our midwife Who in the end ran into a scary situation with the babies's heartbeat dropping and NICU rushing in with residents etc. I firmly believe that the Doula and the midwife saved my peace and my natural delivery.
