Hiring Sarah was one of the best decisions we made as first-time parents! I was overwhelmed by the amount of information and opinions around birth and wanted an expert by our side who knew me, understood what mattered to us, and could help my husband feel prepared to advocate for me.
She was incredibly knowledgeable and nonjudgmental, giving us information about our options without ever pushing us toward a particular choice. When my OB recommended an induction, she gave me space to process and helped me talk through the pros and cons so I could feel confident in my decision.
She was also amazing at preparing my husband. She gave him a partner checklist, postpartum workbook, and information about different procedures we might encounter which helped guide our conversations to become better as a couple too. Having her there meant he didn't have to be the expert in the room, he could focus on being my husband and supporting me.
Most importantly, she really got to know us. She knew I was easily overstimulated and wanted a calm, intimate birth environment. She met us at the hospital, set up lights to make the room feel less clinical, had oils ready when I was nauseous, bone broth and electrolytes for after birth, and even knew when to gently give us space to have a few moments alone as a new family. Both my husband and my mom commented afterward on how calm I was throughout the entire experience.
Her support didn't stop at birth. With no family living nearby, her postpartum visits—helping me process the birth, talking through feeding, making food, washing baby things, and just being there, made me feel like I had a real village around me.
I went from overwhelmed to informed, anxious to calm, and uncertain to confident. She is nurturing, calming, educated, and completely nonjudgmental. I couldn't recommend her more highly!
