We are so incredibly grateful to have had Valerie as our day-of doula for the birth of our baby. From our pre-labor visit through labor, delivery, and postpartum, she was supportive, attentive, and truly went above and beyond.
Our pre-labor visit was so helpful. Valerie took the time to walk through our birth plan, paid close attention to all of our preferences, and really understood that we wanted an advocate by our side during labor at the hospital. She made us feel so confident and prepared going into the experience.
When the big day arrived, Valerie immediately made the room feel calm and peaceful. The labor lasted 19 hours total, and Valerie was incredibly supportive through all stages of it. She walked us through the labor, helped us know what to expect, answered questions along the way, and was such a steady and reassuring presence throughout the entire experience.
She also captured such beautiful photos during labor and delivery, which we will always treasure. She somehow managed to document those moments while still being completely present.
After the birth, Valerie was just as wonderful. She helped with the belly wrap and took the time to debrief with us and talk through the experience. Having someone who cared not only about the birth itself but also about how we were feeling afterward meant so much to us.
Overall, our experience with Valerie was incredible. We genuinely don't think we could ever do a birth without her again! She will absolutely be on our minds when we have our next child. Our only regret is that she was already booked when we needed a postpartum doula. We would have loved to have her with us for that part of the journey too!
