I'm a first time mom and Helen did an absolutely amazing job helping me prepare for birth and postpartum!
Even though I took some courses and classes, I still didn't feel as prepared as when I met up with Helen to talk about everything from Birth plans to preparing myself for labor, or even things I might want to research ahead of time that I did not know about.
If I had to describe Helen in 3 words, it would be non-judgmental, calming, and empathetic. She took care of my husband and I in the hospital. Stayed there the whole time, and constantly checked up on us if we needed any drinks or snacks. If my husband needed to rest or needed some guidance, Helen was ready to fill in:)
There were moments where my husband and I both forgot some questions we wanted to ask the nurses/midwives, and Helen asked and remembered for us! She was such a great advocate!
My parents weren't there, but she made us feel so safe knowing that she was gonna help and take care of us. She just had a calming motherly presence.
After birth, she even came once a week for a month to help watch our little baby while I was able to get some rest!
Honestly the best doula ever! Thank you so much Helen!
