When I was preparing for the birth of my daughter, Isabel, I knew it wouldn’t be an easy journey. We had already learned about her congenital heart defect, and the pregnancy was provoked at 38 weeks due to growth restrictions. The anticipation and uncertainty were overwhelming, but having Funmi as my doula made all the difference.
From the moment labor began, Funmi was by my side, her presence was calming, her touch reassuring, and her advocacy unwavering. She offered foot massages, emotional support, and encouragement through more than 10 hours of labor. When I felt exhausted and scared, she reminded me of my strength. She was my voice when I couldn’t find the words, ensuring I was heard and cared for every step of the way.
Isabel’s birth was a deeply emotional experience, but knowing Funmi was there to support me made it so much more bearable. She is not just a doula, she is a compassionate guide, a fierce advocate, and a true pillar of strength during one of life’s most intense moments. I will always be grateful for her care.
