I was apprehensive going into looking at doulas. I took my foot completely off the gas and let my wife do all the research. After meeting Carli, my apprehension started to fade away.
All I wanted was for the hospital staff to respect my wife and my wishes. I didn't want to have to become a puffer fish. I wanted my focus on my wife and only my wife.
Carli's experience, demeanor, and professionalism had a way of quietly demanding our wishes be met. She knew all the THINGS so we didn't have to.
I will be forever grateful to Carli for coming into our lives and taking the sharp edge off of what could have been an otherwise, tense experience.
