Testimonial for Heidi Schmidt
Heidi Schmidt does not value the maternal birthing experience during unmedicated labor and during complicated deliveries nor does she respect her client’s wishes and autonomy. She centered herself as the “star” of my birthing experience and constantly demanded to be the center of attention when present. Heidi did not show up at all to the first day of my induction nor did she show up to the birth of my child or for the two postpartum visits. She disappeared without informing anyone beforehand which resulted in my support person having to clean up Heidi’s personal belongings and remove her “twinkle lights” that she brought for herself from the walls of my birthing room. She did not abide by the agreed-upon birth plan. She does not work well in group settings so I experienced conflict between her, medical staff, and support persons and even myself when she took my shoes from me during labor and wore them herself. If you are seeking a warm, empathetic, reliable, and culturally competent doula then I would not recommend Heidi at all.
