Testimonial for Danielle Randell CD(DONA)
4 weeks ago I went into labor and gave birth to my first baby, a beautiful baby boy. 4 weeks ago my birth plan also completely shifted and took a hard left turn. With the unexpected and unknown Danielle made sure my husband and I knew exactly what was happening, made sure we had someone who we could lean on for support and guidance, and helped us through the best yet most difficult time.
I was in labor for 34 hours, laboring at home for the first half, Danielle walked me through everything. Making sure I got fluids and food, as much rest as I could, positioning to help baby turn into an ideal position, and even calling the hospital to help give peace of mind when it was time to go in later that night.
She met my husband and I at the hospital and things got started. She continued to coach both of us through next steps and coached me through trying to get baby to descend. When things weren't going to plan ahead asked our birth team of all other possiblilities to get baby here before a cesarian was deemed the only option. Even in the OR Danielle made sure we felt seen, safe, and supported. She also captured the most beautiful pictures that has allowed me to heal and grieve a birth that i didn't get but find the peace and beauty in the one I did have.
even after, she has continued to stay in touch, give advice and be a person I feel I can call a friend and support system. In the future, should my husband and I have any more children, I know I will want Danielle by our side again as she truly helped us both through the opening of this beautiful new chapter.
