I was able to get a doula through my insurance using Raya Health and their team found Camí for me in the Los Angeles area. At first I was hesitant to find a doula because I thought all they helped with was home/unmedicated births. I am so thankful I went forward with getting a doula because I was so wrong about what a doula can do for you to support your pregnancy and postpartum journey! Choosing Camí especially was the best decision for me because she is so kind and personable. Being a first time mom with zero knowledge on pregnancy, birth, and postpartum, I wanted a pretty normal birth experience but was also interested in supporting myself through diet, supplements, and Asian techniques. Camí checked every box for me and was amazing guiding me through this process! Camí has so much knowledge and experience and she always gave me the best advice on what to and what not to buy or give me support when I was unsure how to take care of myself or the baby. Camí was the most helpful during my birth when she came to the hospital and stayed till the baby arrived, asking the nurses to do certain things for me or helping me through contractions with breathing exercises. She even took photos for me during the birth! Camí also supported me through postpartum, checking up on me and giving me tips on how to recover quickly such as what to eat/drink and a belly binding technique to support your abdomen! It was also great having her as a lactation consultant when I was struggling with my milk output and confidence in breastfeeding, she checked my baby’s latch if she had a tongue tie, and how much milk she was getting with each feed. Overall it was such a wonderful experience having a doula and I would recommend Camí to all my pregnant friends! It’s so reassuring having the support you need and Camí can give that to you and more!
