Kira assisted me in an unmedicated VBAC for my third birth. It was a fast labor and very different from my past births. I was very happy with the birth experience and ease of recovery, and I credit Kira for much of that. She helped me prepare beforehand, and I was calm going into late pregnancy and labor.
On the day of the birth, Kira jumped in without hesitation and guided my labor with confidence. Kira’s ability to work with everyone in the labor room was invaluable. She helped my husband and I work together through all stages of labor. She also collaborated very well with our hospital-based midwife and the nurses. When I was scared or didn’t know what to do, I relied heavily on her for guidance and reassurance. I am so happy with how the birth and recovery turned out, and my husband felt it was our best birth experience by far.
I find labor very difficult, mentally and physically. I don’t think I would have been able to have the positive birth experience I had without Kira’s help. I will always be grateful for her work, and if we are blessed with another pregnancy, I hope to be able to have her at my next birth as well.
