Mel is truly a gem of a postpartum doula, and we feel very fortunate to have found her.
Mel is exceptionally thoughtful and detail-oriented. From our first phone call and in-person meeting to every night shift, she took careful notes about our conversations, the baby’s overnight activities, and the advice she shared with us. Her notes were always clear and helpful, especially during those exhausting early weeks.
She is also extremely reliable and takes her work seriously. Although she lives quite far from us, she was always on time. During each shift, she carefully chose appropriate clothes and swaddles for the baby, cleaned the bottles after feedings, and kept everything organized. She did much more than simply watch the baby overnight - she paid attention to every detail of his care.
What stood out most was how genuinely Mel cared about our baby and our whole family. She regularly checked in on how we were doing, asked about my wife’s pumping progress, and offered both practical advice and emotional support. She quickly became someone we trusted and felt comfortable having in our home. She even got along wonderfully with our cat and truly felt like part of the family.
Thanks to Mel, we received much-needed rest and learned a great deal about caring for our newborn. Her help made those overwhelming first few weeks much more manageable, and our baby has been doing great. We cannot thank Mel enough for the care, patience, and support she gave our family.
