I was blessed to get the opportunity to work with both Allison & Monica. (Allison during pregnancy, Monica during labor) The Lord knew I needed both of them on this journey. From the beginning we first met with Allison during pregnancy. I can’t thank her enough for everything she did during pregnancy. The prenatal meetings are so important. She was comforting with my concerns where my husband and I had our son 8 years ago via unnecessary C-section. She helped me process that birth. She was peaceful, informative, genuine and passionate. I felt heard while meeting with her. I looked forward to our meetings and enjoyed the fellowship time to sit together. I didn’t understand during pregnancy how important these meetings truly were until reflecting on my labor. She had prepared me for labor months in advance and I’m so so grateful. She prepared me by showing me that I have a voice and don’t be afraid to fight for yourself/the birth you are desiring. Even though she wasn’t at my labor like we had planned, she was still definitely in the room because of the confidence she had helped me with during pregnancy. My heart desired so badly to have a natural, unmedicated VBAC. Allison was supportive of this and helped encourage me that my body was made for this and could do it! I am so grateful that in meeting with her I wasn’t scared or timid about what I wanted in labor. She taught me so much during the pregnancy that I was able to ask for the things I desired in labor. If I hadn’t met with her during pregnancy I wouldn’t have known what to advocate for and watch for so I didn’t get pushed into another unnecessary C-section. She believed in me from the beginning even when I didn’t believe in myself.
