My husband and I were so very lucky to happen upon Kimberly as a back up for our doula in the first few hours of labor. My contractions went from nothing to highly intense without warning, so being thrown into that pain felt impossible, but even having never met Kimberly yet, she entered the hospital room and stepped up to help. She read the vibes, tuned into what I needed, and really was such a calming presence with helpful cues for the intensity that neither my husband nor myself was prepared for! I am certain that those first few hours would have been MUCH more difficult without her help because everything we learned went out the door. She suggested positions, saw when I was clenching my jaw and provided phrases like "melt into the bed," used encouragement, provided facts, worked with the nurses, and was truly the exact support we both needed. And, after experiencing some trauma related to poor treatment by medical professionals, Kimberly helped me after birth to process what occurred and I seriously couldn't be more grateful for that. I was able to see things in a different light, find more positives amidst those very emotional memories, and find understanding in what happened to me. I truly believe my emotional recovery would have been worse off without her support. I cannot recommend Kimberly enough for labor and delivery and postpartum support. She's found her calling and does it with empathy, calmness, kindness, knowledge, experience, and above all, a genuine care for those she works with. Thank you so much Kimberly!!!
