I met with a few other doulas before meeting Dalal, and I knew straight away that she was the doula for me. She has a great sense of humour and made me feel completely comfortable from the moment we started talking.
In the lead-up to my birth, Dalal came over to talk through what I was hoping for and what I wanted my birth to look like. She took the time to explain the different ways birth could unfold and really listened to both me and my partner. She was incredibly thoughtful too, preparing some lovely creams and tea for me ahead of the birth.
My birth ended up being extremely long, with lots of unexpected twists, and I felt supported by Dalal throughout the whole experience. She brought such a calm, caring presence and helped me feel supported no matter how things changed.
Her care didn’t stop once the baby arrived either. Afterwards, she came to our home with cookies for me and my older daughter, as well as some lovely broth and tea, and even helped clean the house. We also had the chance to debrief the birth together and talk through how I felt about everything that had happened, which I really appreciated.
Dalal is warm, caring, funny and incredibly supportive. I’m so glad she was part of such an important experience for our family, and I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a doula.
