My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed working with Datia! At our first meeting she listened to how my pregnancy was going so far, my goals regarding pregnancy and birth, and to specific concerns I had surrounding birth, since this was my first, and gave me options to help reduce any anxiety already at the first meeting.
Her comfort measures class was great and helped us figure out what things I might like while in labor. It also helped my husband learn a lot. And her generous rebozo gift was so thoughtful and useful!
She checked in on me throughout my pregnancy between meetings and gave valuable input on my birth plan. Talking about the birth plan with her eased some of my worries regarding a hospital birth and made sure her, my husband, and I were all on the same page.
I went into labor almost a month early, and she still came to the hospital in the middle of the night to support me. It was a huge help to my husband to have someone else there with so much knowledge and experience. It was very benificial to have her there to suggest different movements and positions when I was too tired to remember all the things. She always had the right words of encouragement!
My husband had to go with my son to the NICU soon after he was born and Datia stayed with me for a while, getting me snacks and drinks and hyping me up about how well things went despite the early labor!
she checked in with us multiple times after I was discharged but my son was still in the NICU, and came to visit after he was home. And we still keep in touch!
I would highly recommend Datia for any mom, but especially first time moms! Her presence is calming and comforting and she has so much knowledge to help you feel safe and able to make educated decisions in variable circumstances that coincide with your goals--even during the discomforts of an unmedicated labor.
