My labor was extremely long — I was admitted to the hospital Monday night and didn’t have my baby until Wednesday morning — and Paola stayed by my side through all those hours. She supported me in every way possible, always with so much patience, kindness, and care. She took care of even the smallest details: she brushed my hair, braided it, cut and filed my nails, and constantly made sure I was comfortable and had what I needed. During such an intense and exhausting experience, those little acts of care meant so much to me.
During labor, she was an incredible source of support. She helped me through every difficult moment, gave me comfort and encouragement, and made me feel safe and cared for. I truly cannot imagine going through such a long labor without her there.
She also made a beautiful drawing of my placenta and I loved it. It is such a special and unique keepsake from my baby's birth, and something I will keep forever.
Paola was also amazing during the postpartum period. She completely understood how important it was for us to stay close to our baby and was incredibly respectful of that, while still finding ways to help us and give us opportunities to rest. She was there to guide us whenever we weren’t sure what to do, answer our questions, and give us the reassurance we needed during those first days with our newborn.
Paola was so much more than a doula to me. I truly felt cared for as a person, not just supported through labor. I am incredibly grateful that she was part of such an important and unforgettable moment in our lives. I would recommend her wholeheartedly to any expecting family. ??
