What inspired me to have a doula with my first child was the desire to have someone by my side who could support me and advocate for the birth experience I wanted. It was during COVID; Seattle was still new to me, and I really needed that extra support.
We hoped for a natural birth, and we were so lucky to have Suzzie by our side. She was such a sweet, strong, and reassuring presence throughout the experience.
For my second baby in 2026, I knew I wanted Suzzie’s support again. My baby was breech, and although I really hoped for a natural birth, Suzzie helped me prepare a C-section birth plan just in case. I learned so much from her experience, recommendations, and guidance.
My daughter ended up being born via C-section, and having Suzzie there made such a difference. She knew exactly what questions to ask, helped make the environment feel warm and welcoming, and made sure my wishes were heard.
She was also emotionally present for both my husband and me, which meant so much during such an important and vulnerable moment.
I’m forever grateful to have had Suzzie by my side for both of my births.
