We are first time parents and decided to hire a doula because we were going for a natural birth. I met Suzie and instantly felt warmth from her. She was great about checking in throughout my pregnancy and had me feeling very prepared with checklists and questions about what our preferences were. I thought I liked her then, but then the actual labor and delivery happened and then I knew I loved her! She guided us through each step of our labor as it went differently than we preferred and needed to transfer to the hospital. She walked us through what to expect and even beat us there with a wheelchair to help me get into triage. Suzie had every single thing you could think of to help during labor (tens unit, labor combs, oils, music, etc). She was always a step ahead in what I needed whether it be giving me sips of water, counter pressure, or just reassurance. Her energy is so positive and her voice is always calm. It felt so nice to have someone there that knew what was going on and help even though my husband and mother were with us. She was a rockstar and stayed with us through my whole 24 hours at the hospital and didn’t leave my side. I truly can’t describe how much her dedication meant to me and helping me through my first birth. She even kept up with me and came over during postpartum to assist. If you are looking for a doula, Suzie should be your number one pick. She was worth every penny and then some. I truly feel like she was magical in keeping me grounded and surviving birth!!
