I cannot express how much Shaina helped me in my pregnancy and birth experience. This was my first time giving birth. For our initial virtual visit, she shared so much information on different types of stretches, movements, and hospital jargon that was very beneficial beforehand.
I ended up being induced due to a medical reason, and I don't think I could have given birth without Shaina. She help me with contractions by using a tens machine, she used pressure points, massaged my shoulders while I was in pain, reminded me to relax and how to breathe. When you're in a high stress moment like birth, you forget all of the things you learned, ex. Breathing/moving, so it was helpful to have someone to remind you of the helpful tools!
Most importantly, she was an amazing advocate. I consulted her when it came to making decisions during labor. She was so knowledgeable, she would often advocate on my behalf to the nurses to get me what I needed! She didn't take no for an answer! I was so grateful to have her be part of my birth experience, and I would highly recommend her to any woman who wants to feel supported in birth!
