Testimonial for Jet City Doulas
After interviewing several doulas, we selected Jet City because of their experience with high risk births, comfort with our hospital, emphasis on education, their back up model, and feeling like we'd be lucky to have any of these three ladies at our birth. We really appreciated our experience working with them from start to finish, and would highly recommend them - our best investment in our birth process, hands down. They are a bit pricier than other doulas, but this was worth it to us because of their experience, structured approach, and the amount of face time and classes we had with them. The classes/workshops and prenatal conversations were really valuable and helped us feel prepared for birth and postpartum. We ended up having Mariah attend our birth, and she was so wonderful. She was a great advocate and continually looked out for my wellbeing and birth preferences, reminding our providers of our birth plan when needed. She helped explain things to us that were going on, made us aware of decisions (even when the medical staff didn't make them seem like decisions), and was a calm and supportive presence. She knew our hospital room better than our nurse, and filled in where our nurse was a bit lacking (eg helping clean up after my water was broken, turning me in different positions, etc). We had complications with our birth, but I can truly say that my birth experience overall was very positive in large part due to Jet City's support - before, during and after -childbirth. Will definitely call on them again if we have another child!
