I had such a wonderful experience working with Suzie and Riva throughout my pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. The birthing classes and meetings were incredibly helpful and made me feel so much more informed, prepared, and confident going into labor. I also had a lactation appointment with Riva after my son was born, which was so helpful during those early postpartum days while I was trying to navigate breastfeeding and everything that comes with having a newborn.
Suzie was the doula who was with me on the day I delivered, and I truly don’t even know where to begin when it comes to describing how incredible she was. I can honestly say I would not have been able to do it without her. From the moment she was there Suzie made me feel supported, heard, safe, and completely cared for. She was such a calming presence during one of the most intense and emotional experiences of my life. When labor became overwhelming she knew exactly what I needed, whether that was reassurance, encouragement, helping me stay grounded, explaining what was happening, or simply reminding me that I was capable of doing this. Having Suzie there gave me a sense of comfort and confidence that I don’t think I could have found on my own.
She supported both me and my partner and stayed so present through every part of the experience. I never felt like I was navigating anything alone.
You can feel how invested they are in the mothers and families they support, and I felt supported before, during, and after birth. Looking back at the birth of my son, Suzie is such a huge part of that memory, and I will forever be grateful that she was there with me. I’m also so thankful for Riva and all of the education, preparation, and postpartum support she provided along the way.
If you are considering working with Suzie and Riva, I cannot recommend them enough. I truly don’t think I could have done it without such an amazing team.
