I highly recommend Lauren as a doula. This was my second birth, but my first time having a doula, and it made a world of difference.
From the very beginning, Lauren was warm, approachable, and easy to talk to, even about more sensitive topics, including some of the difficult parts of my first birth. She was consistently receptive, empathetic, and nonjudgmental, creating a space where I felt comfortable sharing my concerns and preferences.
During our prenatal appointments, Lauren helped me further develop and refine a birth plan that I felt confident about. She also shared practical and helpful resources, including a realistic daily movement routine to prepare for labor.
During early labor, Lauren joined me at the hospital and guided me through a variety of helpful strategies, including walking laps around the labor and delivery floor, trying different positions, using a TENS unit, and providing hip squeezes. Throughout labor, she regularly checked in with me about what I wanted to do as medical decisions arose and made sure I felt informed and supported in my choices.
My active labor progressed very quickly and intensely, and I unexpectedly ended up giving birth without an epidural. I truly don’t think I could have gotten through it the way I did without Lauren’s unwavering encouragement and support.
Lauren was also wonderful postpartum, checking in with me and flexibly offering different options for support based on what I needed and preferred.
Overall, Lauren was an incredible source of support throughout my pregnancy, birth, and postpartum experience. She helped me through one of the most difficult yet rewarding experiences of my life, and I would wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking for a doula.
