I knew Lyndsey was the right fit for me within moments of meeting her on our first zoom. She is a no nonsense woman and I needed that. I made the decision to bring on a doula for my second pregnancy/birth after a very traumatic first pregnancy/delivery. My hope was that the presence of my own advocate would change the overall birhting experience and I couldn't have been more spot on. Lyndsey was the perfect fit for the role and she made me feel empowered! Additionally, I love the way Lyndsey is direct. I feel that she was always so honest and detailed with me about possibilities, different outcomes, and managing expectations. I was anxious through my pregnancy and Lyndsey was kind to be my sounding board when I felt I needed some clarity during pregnancy. Lyndsey never made me feel rushed or less for having ALL kinds of questions. She always took her time with us and I appreciated that so much.
My hope was for a v-bac. I'll spare you my birth story with the exception of this; Lyndsey did everything she could have done to get me as close to a v-bac as I came. I am so thankful that I was able to experience laboring my baby the way I did. THAT was healing for me and it was largely in thanks to Lyndsey. I made it to 10 cm and I was able to push for two hours before I ultimately decided that I wanted a c section. I was fortuante to have made that choice as timing would have my uterus ruptured once in the OR -- Lyndsey handled the change in plans exactly as I'd have wished for her to. When I wanted to quit, she nudged me to keep going because I could do it. I became concrete in my choice, and Lyndsey stood by me in that and with ease, transitioned to helping with whatever she could to get me shuffled around.
By the time we parted ways at the hospital, I felt like I was saying goodbye to another new family member. I couldn't recommend Lyndsey more.
