We’re very grateful to have had Tessa support our family during the postpartum period. She was warm, dependable, and genuinely caring with our baby boy (our second), and I felt comfortable leaving him in her care.
She helped with routine tasks that I was struggling to do on my own as I recovered from my C-section. Tessa took care of baby laundry, baths, diaper trash, light snacks for me and more. Most importantly, she regularly took the baby to the park and on walks so I could attend my weekly postpartum PT sessions and focus on my recovery.
I found our time together was most helpful when I prepared a list of priorities or tasks in advance. The brain fog in the early weeks was no joke and writing it all down was helpful for both of us to get on the same page. Tessa was very responsive to my clear direction and happily worked through what I needed, so I would recommend a similar approach for future families (if they can) in order to communicate expectations and preferred rhythm upfront to get the most out of the support. The 5 weeks with Tessa flew by and I'm glad we created this rhythm together.
Overall, Tessa brought a caring presence into our home, and we’re grateful for the support she provided during a demanding season for our family.
