I truly cannot say enough wonderful things about my experience with her as my doula. I was anxious about choosing a doula and finding someone who could truly support me through my first VBAC. From the beginning, she offered so much more than information and guidance. She brought a sense of comfort, calm, and genuine care that made me feel supported throughout my pregnancy and birth.
After having a C-section with my first daughter, I had a lot of nerves, questions, and uncertainty about attempting a VBAC. She listened to every concern, validated my feelings, answered my questions without judgment, and helped me feel confident in myself and my decisions. She always met me where I was and gave me exactly the reassurance I needed.
What made my experience with her especially meaningful was that my significant other was deployed overseas when I went into labor. She stepped in as not only my doula, but my primary support person throughout the entire birth. She went above and beyond anything I could have expected, simply out of the goodness of her heart.
During labor, she became my grounding force. She brought me a sense of peace that I genuinely don't think anyone else could have given me. She made me feel safe, heard, supported, and cared for. She was my advocate, my reassurance, and my backstop when I needed one. She also made sure my significant other could remain on the phone throughout labor so that, despite being thousands of miles away, he could still be part of our daughter's birth.
I was ultimately able to have the VBAC I had hoped for, and I will always remember how instrumental she was in helping me feel safe and supported enough to trust myself and my body. She brought her whole heart into caring for me and my family, and I will forever be grateful that she was beside me when my daughter came into the world. I truly could not recommend her more highly.
