Working with Grace made my birth experience genuinely beautiful. She advised me on how to prepare mentally for a calm and successful natural birth in our pre-birth meetings. She was the perfect balance of responsive to my ideas and sharing of her own ideas and expertise. She consulted with me throughout my early labor, and helped me decide both when she should join me at my home and when I should go to the hospital - at which point she was a phenomenal advocate and voice on my behalf in ways I requested and didn't think to request, with hospital staff and with my own friends and family members. In my home, she helped me rest (literally in her lap) between contractions for hours so I would have the energy to push later, while keeping my support people and the entire atmosphere extremely relaxed and peaceful. She struck a beautiful balance between supporting me directly and monitoring for my partner how to do so so he could shine and be an integral part of the experience. I don't plan to give birth again, but if I did, I would not do it without her!
