My experience having Marlene as my midwife assistant / doula is one I will absolutely never forget - having never met in person, she glided into my hospital room where I was in the throws of an unexpected induction and significant labor pain easily and peacefully, immediately massaging my back and whispering affirmations over me while she rubbed essential oils into my neck. I was immediately at peace just being in her presence and she was instrumental in helping me to work through contractions without panic or fear, but instead with confidence and control. She updated my midwife frequently and always made sure that hospital staff gave me time to privately think over any suggestions they made before giving my answer - she was such a huge advocate for me. I cannot imagine having another birth without Marlene present!
