Shamika was a fantastic postpartum doula -- a warm, caring, and reassuring presence during our first two months with our second child.
On every postpartum overnight visit, Shamika arrived early to check in with me and my husband and troubleshoot any issues we were having -- from lactation, postpartum mental health, sibling transitions, to baby feeding. We always felt like we could ask her anything, and she was patient, thoughtful, and never made us feel judged. If she didn't know the answer to a question we had, she reached out to her network of doulas and lactation consultants to make sure she could give us the best suggestions.
Shamika really took the time to understand what we needed and regularly asked for feedback on how she could adjust and improve her care (even though none needed!). We honestly can’t recommend Shamika enough. She was such an important part of our postpartum experience, and we’re so thankful for all of her support!
