Heidy was (and is!) an incredible resource to us.
I knew I wanted a doula to be part of my birth experience, but I didn't realize how much I would appreciate Heidy through the pregnancy and during fourth trimester, as well. She was always available to answer questions (do I need to go to the ER because it's been five hours since I've felt movement?), guide us through medical issues (how often does she see potential growth resctrictions? how worried should we be?), and I literally just texted her this morning, at 4 months post partum, "why does my nipple hurt when I'm nursing?"
I wound up being induced and nearly requiring an emergency c-section, and Heidy was such a warm, steady presence through all of it. I think it honestly would have been a terrifying experience without her. But with her in the room, I always felt like I knew what was going on, didn't feel rushed to make any medical decisions, and had an incredible chearleader and mentor by my side.
Heidy is so warm, so good at reading the room and seeing what is needed, and so smart. She made me feel safe and comfortable, even as my labor didn't follow an ideal path.
In the end, I loved my birth experience and am excited to do it again! And I think that's in no small part because of Heidy.
