I am truly blessed to have had Liz at the birth of my 3rd born this past April and subsequent doula help in the weeks after - her support was instrumental to my positive outcomes.
Regarding her services leading up to labor and delivery - Liz provided incredible support managing anxieties. She lent me belly bands to help support my bump after 36 weeks and provided books like "good moms have scary thoughts" and "the art of breastfeeding" to help prepare me and normalize my thoughts ahead of my birth. On the day I finally went into labor (39 weeks and 5 days), she showed up at the hospital at 1am after I'd checked in and got my room assigned and helped support me throughout my labor. She brought soothing lavender and eucalyptus oils for massages (and frankly I was a little skeptical about the eucalyptus oil at first, but it ended up being a GAME CHANGER during labor as it shocked my senses in the most soothing way and distracted from the pain of my unmedicated birth). She played music and was helpful in explaining what was happening, she pivoted quickly to accomodate my needs and desires. She held my legs while I pushed and gave me every bit of encouragement I needed to get baby out. This was my biggest baby and hardest labor and I'm so grateful to have had Liz there to help make sure things went smoothly.
Liz was the first to show up and help cook delicous, nurishing, meals that I would not have made myself - her soups are fantastic. She did laundry for me exactly how I'd do it myself - even switching over to an organic detergent for baby to help with exzcema. She releived me of my mom guilt by playing with my 4 year old and making sure he felt special and supported during this huge transition for our family. She anticipated my needs - getting me water and snacks and hold baby while I showered - bacially an extension of myself that I sorely missed every time she left. 10/10 recommend this beautiful woman.
