Working with Heidi was a wonderful experience and I would not hesitate to hire her again. Worth every penny! She was a wealth of knowledge for a first time pregnancy and birth. Before the baby was born she did a home visit, showed my husband and I stretches and exercises to help with pregnancy discomfort and to get the baby into position. She helped us with a birth plan and answered my many many questions.
I ended up needing an induction and knew that likely would impact my birth plan. Heidi walked us through options and was there when labor really started. She provided a tens unit that helped a lot during contractions. She supported all my decisions and was warm, present and hands on. When it came time to push she was an excellent coach and explained how the baby was positioned and how to push.
I ended up needing some interventions after birth due to blood loss and thank goodness Heidi was there. She stayed by my side and kept me calm and unafraid through the whole ordeal. That freed my husband up to hold the baby, which was part of my birth plan -- I had told him in advance should anything happen and I could not hold the baby, I did not want a stranger holding her or having her left in a bassinet.
During all the chaos after the baby was born Heidi somehow managed to capture some beautiful photos and videos of us meeting our daughter that we otherwise would not have had. I am really thankful she captured those moments
I am so grateful that Heidi was there for my birth experience. Even though it wasn't according to my first plan, I am happy with how it all turned out and credit that in huge part to having Heidi by my side. She is a warm, calm, supportive birth professional and I highly recommend her to anyone.
