When my husband and I found out we were pregnant we knew we were going to want to do whatever we could to be well educated about the labor and delivery process. As we began to research ourselves, we were quickly overwhelmed. We realized quickly that a doula would be most helpful to us to help streamline information and have a trusted source. Hannah was just that and more for us!
From our very first meeting, Hannah’s calm, steady, and caring presence was evident. She was quick to try and understand us as people and what the birth we envisioned was. Hannah enthusiastically helped us through any questions, weighed pros and cons, and made us feel confident in making informed decisions around our birth plan. This help was priceless.
While labor and delivery was quick, Hannah was still vey present and helpful. It started through helping us sort through information about my progression over text. Then she helped us feel confident in making decisions around laboring at home and knowing when it was time to go in. Both of these things helped tremendously in making decisions that positively impacted our birth story. Once at the hospital, Hannah’s steady presence continued. She helped with the unspoken things. Keeping wash cloths cold and placed on me, adjusting fans, holding legs, and taking priceless photos.
