Lea was truly my guardian angel during my first pregnancy and birth in 2023.
As a Brazilian, finding a doula whose first language was also Portuguese immediately made me comfortable. But Lea became so much more. We described her as a “lawyer” doula someone who would advocate for her clients.
I wanted an unmedicated birth, and when I felt the medical team wasn’t listening to me, Lea helped me stay connected to my wishes without ever making decisions for me.
During delivery, I told a nurse I needed to push and was told it wasn’t time. Seconds later, my baby came out and fell to the floor. I was terrified, but I’ll never forget Lea’s calm voice: “She’s crying. She’s okay.”
Lea advocated for me, supported my husband, and was our calm during one of the scariest moments of our lives. We trusted her again for our second baby in 2025, and I couldn’t imagine either birth without her.
