Lea was my birth doula for both of my daughters, and when I found out I was pregnant again, we knew we wanted her by our side.After a very difficult first birth experience, I was scared to return to the same hospital. But knowing Lea would be there gave me so much confidence.My baby came two weeks early. My water broke and I had no contractions, and Lea supported us throughout the day, guiding us until it was time to go to the hospital. When we arrived late that night, she was already there waiting for us.This birth was completely different. Whenever the doctors gave us options, Lea calmly explained everything in a way we could understand and helped us feel confident making our own decisions. I eventually needed to be induced, and she stayed by our side through the night until our baby girl was born and after.
Lea’s support went far beyond the delivery room. Throughout my pregnancy, she advocated for us and made sure the hospital understood our previous experience. I truly believe her work helped make this birth so different.
I walked into that hospital afraid and walked out with a beautiful, empowering birth experience. Lea was our advocate, our educator, and the person we trusted most. I will forever be grateful for her.
