I cannot recommend Charlotte enough. She was such an important part of my birth experience and supported my husband and me throughout my 27 hour labor. From our first prenatal visits, Charlotte helped me feel prepared and confident. She taught me exercises with the birthing ball, explained what to expect during labor, and was always available by phone or text whenever I had questions. When I was admitted for my induction, she was there every step of the way. During contractions, she gave me massages, helped me change positions, and suggested different techniques to make labor more manageable and help it progress. One of the things I appreciated most was how she helped me understand my options. When the doctors presented recommendations or decisions, Charlotte helped me process everything calmly and clearly so I could make informed choices without ever feeling pressured. She was also an incredible support for my husband, helping him stay calm and making sure he never felt alone or overwhelmed. As a native Spanish speaker who speaks English as a second language, having a Spanish-speaking doula was especially important to me. During such an intense and vulnerable moment, being able to communicate in my first language gave me so much comfort and peace of mind. Having a doula is one of the best pieces of advice I could give any expecting mother, and I feel incredibly grateful that Charlotte was mine. She was absolutely amazing, and I will always be thankful that she was part of our birth experience.
