Jessica is a must hire! Going into our doula research she stood out right away and was our top candidate going into meet and greets. We were so happy to connect instantly and hire her as our doula. For this birth I was attempting an unmedicated TOLAC, having not previously gone into labour at all and going straight to a cesarean. Previously we didn’t have a doula and knew that with this goal in mind having one would be essential. Jessica’s care leading up to the birth and during was phenomenal. She was able to reeducate us where we needed it and enable both of us to feel prepared as best we could leading up. On the big day, Jessica was encouraging and helped us decide on the perfect time for her to show up. She had her bag of tricks and we were able to maintain the birth plan goal of labouring at home til transition. At the hospital she was able to advocate for our plan, which aligned perfectly. We can confidently say her support didn’t feel like a replacement but a counterpart. She was able to be a guide, providing suggestions and coaching. Reassuring myself and my husband that progress was happening and I was safe. My birth journey has come to an end but I wouldn’t hesitate to work with Jessica again. If an unmedicated, low intervention birth is your goal Jessica is your girl!
