I am so happy that I found Keli! As a single parent by choice, I knew I wanted a doula to support me through birth. As a plus sized woman, I was also feeling some kind of way about the messaging around pregnancy and large bodies in the wider culture and medical establishment. Keli was so understanding, informed, and calming on both of those fronts and more. As my pregnancy progressed towards birth, Keli helped me understand my options, roll with the unexpected, and worked hand in hand with my (also amazing) OB to feel less out of control. Her sense of humor and positivity never made me feel like I was being bright sided or pushed out of fear or anxiety, but let me breathe through the intensity of the life transition into motherhood. I have recommended her and doulas in general to my community and now am doing it here, too! If I ever have another child, I would call her up in a heartbeat. She made me feel like my experience was paramount in a time where you are expected to sacrifice everything for your child, which let me feel like an actualized human getting ready to welcome my baby instead of a vessel for new life.
